507th District Court of Harris County Texas
This Court is the newest Family District Court in Harris County, having been established in 2016. The Honorable Julia Maldonado is the presiding Judge with The Honorable Enrique Torres serving as her associate Judge. You can access her website here. Uncontested divorces may be heard via zoom but a appointment is required. This Court is the only Court in Harris County not to take affidavits in lieu of a Court appearance. Docket call starts at 9 a.m. via zoom. Trial docket call is on Mondays. Mediation is required before temporary orders hearings in which custody is an issue or complex property cases and final trial in all cases. If you have an emergency, the court will likely hear your case, or issue interim temporary orders pending a mediation. The court requires a parenting class if child custody is disputed. The court coordinator is Kristel Rubio who worked in the 257th for several years before coming the court coordinator for the 507th. The first reset in this court is not very difficult, but generally if the case has been on file for sometime, you may be subject to dismissal.
